Mahoney Real Estate LLC profile cover
Tyler Mahoney grew up hunting and fishing across the Truman Lake region, including the Warsaw, Windsor, and Clinton areas. Although he lived in Lee’s Summit until 25, his outdoor roots have always been tied closely to Truman Lake, Henry County, and the surrounding rural Missouri landscape. Tyler’s love for hunting and fishing eventually turned into outdoor writing. While attending Rockhurst University, he began writing for outdoor magazines and newspapers, which later led to several years as the hunting and fishing columnist for The Kansas City Star beginning in 2018. That background in outdoor writing, local fishing knowledge, and storytelling eventually helped lead to the creation of TrumanLakeFishingIntel.com. As the founder of Truman Lake Fishing Intel, Tyler has built a platform focused on helping anglers fish Truman Lake smarter through detailed fishing reports, guide insight, historical report data, podcasts, videos, forecasts, and practical local knowledge. He also owns and operates Mahoney Real Estate and Land Management, LLC, where his work in land, rural property, and outdoor recreation ties naturally into the same local lifestyle he lives every day. In addition to running Truman Lake Fishing Intel, Tyler offers guided private strip pit fishing experiences around the Truman Lake and Henry County area. With access to more than 15 strip pits, Tyler provides a unique, comfortable fishing experience away from the main lake. Trips are run from a stable 14- to 16-foot pontoon boat, giving clients an easy, relaxed way to keep a rod in their hand and fish for largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, walleye, gar, and other species found in the area. Tyler’s guided strip pit trips are built around a simple idea: show up and fish. All fishing equipment is provided, breakfast is included, and guests can spend their time enjoying the water instead of worrying about setup, gear, or cleanup. If clients want to keep fish, Tyler will clean them after the trip. Tyler also offers a very limited number of guided morel mushroom trips in the spring. These trips are highly exclusive, fill quickly, and often require booking well in advance or joining a waiting list. When Tyler is not selling real estate, working on Truman Lake Fishing Intel, guiding trips, or managing land, he is usually in the woods or on the water. He is a husband to Sami, and father of two, Maeve and Luke, and being a dad is one of the greatest joys of his life. His faith in Jesus Christ is central to who he is, and he is always happy to share his personal story and the hope that has shaped his life.
