JR Loyd was born and raised in Clinton, Missouri, and has spent his life around Truman Lake and Lake of the Ozarks. He has been an avid outdoorsman since he was old enough to stand, building a deep connection to the lakes, fish, and outdoor lifestyle of west-central Missouri. JR spends a lot of time on the water working to improve his own fishing, follow seasonal patterns, and stay current with how fish are setting up throughout the year. That time on the water helps him give clients a better experience and helps him adjust as conditions change. One of JR’s favorite parts of guiding is helping people enjoy the lake and make memories. Whether his clients are chasing a limit, learning something new, or simply wanting a good day outside, JR takes pride in putting them in position to have a successful and enjoyable trip. JR offers 4-hour and 8-hour trips targeting primarily crappie, catfish, and spoonbill when the season is open. He runs an Charger 210 Elite equipped with Garmin LiveScope and Lowrance units, giving clients a practical, fishable setup built for Truman Lake conditions. When fishing with JR, clients can expect a prepared, straightforward trip. He provides light snacks, water, and bags for taking fish home. Clients should bring any additional food or drinks they want for the day, along with a cooler for fish. As a Missouri Fishing Intel contributor, JR brings local knowledge, regular time on the water, and practical guide insight from a lifetime spent fishing the Truman Lake, Lake of the Ozarks, and Pomme de Terre area.
