About Jack Uxa
Jack Uxa has been working in the fishing industry since 1997 and has been fishing Lake of the Ozarks since he was a child. His first job was at a local St. Louis tackle shop, Paul’s Bait and Tackle, where he counted nightcrawlers and helped care for crickets and minnows.
Jack later moved to the Ozarks for college and worked in the fishing department at Bass Pro Shops while continuing to learn the lake. He started fishing and winning club tournaments, then went on to compete as a co-angler in larger regional tournament circuits. Before building his Lake of the Ozarks guide business, Jack also spent time guiding in the Minnesota Boundary Waters.
In 2003, Jack started Jack’s Guide Service on Lake of the Ozarks. Since then, he has built a reputation as one of the lake’s most recognized professional guides. He is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed guide and has also served as the Head Guide at Tan-Tar-A Resort.
Jack is known for helping everyday anglers become better fishermen. Whether he is teaching seasonal bass patterns, breaking down the Damiki rig, using forward-facing sonar, explaining electronics, or helping clients understand a specific area of the lake, his goal is to make each trip both productive and educational.
With extensive full-time experience on Lake of the Ozarks, Jack brings a deep understanding of seasonal fish movement, weather patterns, current, docks, bluff bites, points, schooling fish, and how different sections of the lake set up throughout the year. His guide trips are designed not only to help clients catch fish, but also to give them knowledge they can use the next time they are on the water.
As a Missouri Fishing Intel contributor, Jack brings professional guide experience, tournament background, electronics knowledge, and practical Lake of the Ozarks insight for anglers who want to fish the lake more effectively.
