Hunter Bowling's Guide Service profile cover
Hunter Bowling grew up on Truman Lake learning from one of the best — his dad, Richard Bowling. From an early age, Hunter was around guide trips, tournament fishing, and the day-to-day grind of figuring out Truman’s changing conditions. Today, Hunter has built his own reputation as a strong crappie fisherman, tournament angler, and guide on Truman Lake. He guides for crappie through most of the year, helping clients stay on fish as they move through the lake’s seasonal patterns, timber, creek systems, and changing water conditions. In the spring, Hunter also puts a heavy focus on spoonbill when Missouri’s snagging season is open. That seasonal shift gives his clients another way to experience Truman Lake and target one of the lake’s most unique fisheries. Hunter is also involved in the local tournament scene and runs the Truman Lake Tournament Series, a crappie tournament series based on Truman Lake. Between guiding, tournament fishing, and helping organize competitive events, Hunter stays closely connected to what is happening on the lake throughout the year. Whether he is guiding a crappie trip, chasing spoonbill in the spring, or competing on tournament day, Hunter brings local knowledge, time on the water, and a competitive mindset to his fishing.
