Fishing Guide

Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri River

Currently accepting trips

Gary Taylor grew up in California, Missouri, where he started fishing as a kid with his dad and grandpa. What began as time on the water with family eventually developed into a serious passion for catfishing. Gary has now been fishing seriously for 17 years and guiding for the past six through All Out Guide Service, primarily targeting blue catfish on Lake of the Ozarks and the Missouri River. Gary adapts his approach to the conditions. On the Missouri River, he frequently uses bumping and anchoring depending on current and fish movement. On Lake of the Ozarks, his techniques include dragging baits, dead sticking and anchoring. Years of trial and error and extensive time on both fisheries have helped him develop a strong understanding of how blue catfish respond to changing conditions. Tournament fishing has also been a major part of Gary’s experience. He won the 2016 Winter Blues on Wheeler, captured the 2018 Central Missouri Catfishing Tournament Trail points championship, and has accumulated more than 20 tournament wins on rivers and lakes. He has also recorded a second-place finish and Big Fish honors at the SeaArk Owners Tournament in Decatur, Alabama, a fourth-place finish there, and a second-place finish at the 2022 Big St. Joe Tournament. Gary has caught four blue catfish weighing more than 100 pounds on rod and reel. His 2016 Winter Blues win and a separate fourth-place national championship finish are also documented in catfishing publications. For Gary, guiding is about more than simply putting fish in the boat. He describes himself as outgoing, enjoys fishing with just about anyone, and takes pride in making sure his clients have a good day even when the fish make things difficult.
