Dillon Stocking has been fishing Truman Lake since before he could walk. Growing up around the lake gave him an early start, but his fishing education did not stop there. Over the years, Dillon has spent time fishing lakes across the country and learning from some of the best crappie anglers in the world. That background eventually led him to build a career as a full-time fishing guide on Truman Lake. Today, Dillon is known as a serious crappie fisherman, guide, and tournament angler who spends much of his time on the water helping clients catch fish and understand how Truman Lake crappie set up through changing seasons, water levels, weather patterns, and fishing pressure. Dillon guides crappie trips through much of the year and brings a strong mix of local knowledge, modern technique, tournament experience, and time on the water to every trip. He has spent countless hours learning and refining crappie techniques, seasonal patterns, boat control, electronics, bait presentation, and the details that help put more fish in the boat. In addition to guiding, Dillon fishes a lot of tournaments and stays closely connected to the competitive crappie fishing world. That tournament experience helps sharpen his decision-making and gives him a practical understanding of how to adjust when conditions change or when fish are not set up where anglers expect them to be. As a Truman Lake Fishing Intel contributor, Dillon brings current guide insight, serious crappie knowledge, and a teaching-first approach. Whether he is guiding clients, fishing competitively, or sharing reports with members, Dillon’s goal is simple: help people catch more fish and become better crappie anglers.
